Jackson was a member of the 2009 state track and field runner-up 4x400 relay team that qualified for the Drake Relays and still holds the school record. That same year, Jackson finished sixth at state in the 400m run and the team earned a third place finish. In football he was the starting wide receiver on the 2008 state quarter finalist team.
In soccer he was a four-year varsity letter winner, a three-year starter and a senior captain. He helped his team earn three conference championships and to qualify for state four times where they finished as runner-up in 2006 and as state champions in 2008. He was an all-state and all-conference honoree and holds the school record as the all-time assist leader. He represented DCHS at the East/West High School All Star Game and was awarded Varsity Team MVP in 2009. In club soccer he was a member of the Des Moines Menace three-team Iowa State Cup Champion team. In football he was the starting wide receiver and the 2008 state quarter finalist team.
He went on to play soccer at Drake University where he went from a walk on to earning a scholarship and starting position his junior and senior year. He was also a member of the Student Athletic Advisory Committee, a leadership group consisting of student-athletes representing all sports at Drake.
Jackson was the varsity assistant coach at Norwalk High School from 2017-2020 where he helped lead his team to the state championship title in 2017. Since 2021 he has served as the head soccer coach at Dowling Catholic where his team finished as state semi-finalist in 2023 and state runner-up in 2024. His current team holds a 74% winning percentage. He currently works as a Business Development Manager at Spinutech, LLC. He and his wife, Hannah, have been married since March 2023 and live with their dog, Nelly with Baby Teeling expected in Feb. 2025.
Whether it was soccer, track or football, Jackson remembers that there was a culture of excellence at DCHS in all the programs he participated in where competitiveness and commitment were the standard. Being a part of a collective winning culture and learning under the coaching staff he was able to play for were invaluable during his formative high school years.
