Thomas K. Donahue

Tom has served as a girls track and field coach at Dowling Catholic since 2008. During that time he has coached five state champions, 31 state scorers, 80 state qualifiers, and 53 Drake Relays qualifiers. He has also coached 37 all-state relay teams in events including the 4x100, 4 x 200, sprint medley, distance medley and 4x400. His state championship teams include the 4x100 in 2014 and 2023 and the distance medley in 2014. 

He has also served as the junior varsity girls basketball coach at DCHS since 1998 and holds a record of 315-55. He coached softball from 2002-2013 where he learned to coach and led his team to many victories. 

He and his wife Melanie have two children, Allison ‘07 and Michael ‘09, who also attended Dowling Catholic.

Even after so many years, to watch an athlete celebrate an accomplishment, no matter the situation or setting, is special to him. He recognizes that every coach knows the work it takes to get there and in a small way celebrates with them.
