Caitlyn was Female Athlete of the Year and winner of the Bernie Saggau Award in 2011 and the John Hayes Award winner in 2010. In soccer she was a four-year varsity starter and letter winner who helped her team qualify for state twice and to finish as CIML Central Conference champions in 2011. As a senior she was team captain, named second team all-state, and was team leader in goals and co-leader in assists. She earned academic all-conference recognition all four years, was named first team CIML Central All Conference three times, Honorable Mention CIML All Conference in 2008, and Honorable Mention All-State.
In basketball she was a three-year varsity letter winner and two-year varsity starter. She was team captain, earned the Team Leader Award and led the team in three point field goal percentage (2010-2011). She was named First Team CIML Central All-Conference and in 2011 participated in the All-Star Game, CIML Senior All-Star Game, and the Iowa Girls Coaches Association and Gatorade All-Star Game.
She went on to play Division 1 Women’s Soccer at the University of Northern Iowa on a four-year athletic scholarship. She was a four-year starter and team captain for two years. She was named the Player’s Player of the Year and earned Missouri Valley Conference (MVS) Second Team All-Conference, two-time MVC Honorable Mention, and was named to the MVC All-Tournament and All-Freshman teams.
She works for Principal Financial Group and has three children, Harper (6), Jaxon (4), Callan (6 months), with her husband, Dalton Parrott ’11.
Caitlyn’s favorite memories involve the people and being part of the varsity basketball and soccer programs. She is grateful for the lifelong friends (including her husband), teammates who she went to battle with day in and day out, coaches who pushed and supported her, and teachers who imparted knowledge and wisdom. The influence and companionship of these individuals are what made her high school years truly special!
