METANOIA
Metanoia (a Greek word meaning "change of heart") is a retreat for Dowling Catholic freshmen led by a team of Dowling Catholic seniors and held at St. Thomas More Center in Panora, Iowa. The retreat runs from Sunday noon until Monday afternoon at about 3 pm. The theme of the retreat follows the thematic development of "Change Your Mind--Change Your Heart--Change Your Actions". Students will listen to talks, participate in small group discussions and activities, engage in prayer/reflection activities, and celebrate Mass together. The entire experience is intended to give students a chance to get away from the busy-ness of life, reflect on their faith, get to know many new classmates, and grow in faith and friendship.
Applications for Metanoia are available at www.stmcenter.com. See Mrs. Regier or Mr. Enzler with questions.

KAIROS
The Kairos retreat is something very special to the Dowling Catholic community. The word Kairos means "the Lord's time." This four day, off-campus retreat is experienced by Dowling Catholic High School juniors. Kairos not only gives students an opportunity to explore their own hearts, but also draws them closer to God and each other in an intensely powerful way. This retreat significantly impacts students and strengthens their ideals and values as Christian leaders. Kairos retreats are held at the Creighton Retreat Center located near Griswold, Iowa and are directed by a team of Dowling Catholic students and faculty.
Registration forms for Kairos are available here or from any theology teacher. See Mrs. Sheaff with questions.

CROSSROADS
Crossroads is a retreat written specifically for Dowling Catholic Seniors. It is designed for students who already have an active faith in Jesus and are looking for ways to deepen and strengthen that relationship. The 3-day retreat runs from Saturday morning until Monday afternoon and is facilitated by recent Dowling alums and the staff at the St. Thomas More Center. The theme of the weekend focuses around the Ignatian Daily Examen of Conscience, which is broken into pieces so that students can practice this prayer form with the hope that they will continue to pray it when they return home.
The Crossroads Retreat has not been scheduled for the 2009-10 school year, as we assess the best way to serve our senior class and their spiritual needs. See Mrs. Sheaff with questions.

QUO VADIS?
Quo Vadis is Latin for "Where are you going?" This is the question presented to recent Dowling Catholic graduates as they prepare for college. The 24-hour retreat takes place at the Creighton Retreat Center and is scheduled annually for the middle of August. During this retreat, college bound students spend time discussing how to keep their faith strong, their hopes and dreams for the future, as well as their fears and anxieties. This retreat provides one last opportunity for Dowling graduates to strengthen their bonds with the faith community they have established during their time at Dowling Catholic.
